Project: Trading Applications (Azure/Databricks)Industry: Energy TradingLocation: London - Hybrid, 3 days/weekContract: 6 months initial - expected multi-year scopeX4 Technology are partnered with a leading energy trading firm on a major Azure Databricks transformation, offering an experienced Full Stack Developer the opportunity to join a high-profile Trading Technology team.This is a hands-on role focused heavily on React.js and Node.js, sitting at the intersection of application, data and cloud engineering. You'll work closely with Databricks Engineers to enhance the front-end application layer (React.js) of trading applications while also developing the backend services and APIs that power them (Node.js).You'll also gain exposure across the wider technology ecosystem, including Python, Azure Cloud Engineering, CI/CD and the deployment, operation and scaling of critical trading applications.Responsibilities of the Contract Full Stack Engineer (Trading)Build high-quality, responsible and scalable UI components (React.js)Develop backend APIs, services, microservices and integrations (Node.js)Deploy and automate applications through cloud services and CI/CD (Azure)Bridge the data and application layers to build intuitive user experiencesContribute to technical design, patterns and engineering standardsDrive performance, resilience, observability and reliability across the stackSupport code reviews, technical delivery and Agile developmentRequirements for the Contract Full Stack Engineer (Trading)Proven Full Stack development experience, with strong React.js and Node.js expertiseStrong backend experience with Node.js, APIs, microservices and integrationsExposure to Python, Rest APIs, GraphQL, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes (beneficial)Proven experience within trading (energy/commodities specifically preferred)An initial 6 month contract with expected continuous extensions across a multi-year programme, offering genuine long-term scope within a major Trading Technology transformation.X4 Technology have already placed 160+ contractors here, with many extending for 3-4+ years, some 7+We're shortlisting immediately, with client interview availability from W/C 24th August.
