Data Centre Support Engineer

ONNEC are seeking a dedicated IMACData Centre Support Engineer to provide onsite support for aprestigious financial client based onsite in Cody Technology Park.

This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operational activities, assisting with infrastructure changes, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery within a critical data centre environment. Due to customer operational requirements, flexibility is essential as planned change activities may take place during evenings and occasionally weekends.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys working in a structured, customer-facing environment and has experience supporting IT infrastructure, cabling, hardware deployments, and data centre operations.

What you’ll be doing as ourIMACData Centre Support Engineer:

• Provide onsite support within a customer data centre environment.
• Carry out hardware installations, removals, upgrades and relocations.
• Support structured cabling and patching activities.
• Assist with planned infrastructure and change management activities.
• Perform rack and stack activities and equipment audits.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with customer processes and documentation standards.
• Maintain accurate records, asset information and service reports.
• Liaise directly with customer stakeholders and ONNEC management teams.
• Support occasional out-of-hours and weekend change activities.

Working Pattern

• Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00.
• Flexibility is required to support customer change activities that may commence at 20:00 or 21:00.
• Working hours may be adjusted to accommodate planned out-of-hours activities.
• Weekend work may be required on an ad-hoc basis and is paid in accordance with overtime arrangements.

What we’re looking for in our IMACData Centre Support Engineer :

• Experience within a Data Centre, IT Infrastructure or Smart Hands environment.
• Good understanding of server, network and hardware deployments.
• Experience with structured cabling and patching activities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures within technical environments.
• Full right to work in the UK.
