Cloud Engineer

Job Description

Up to £55,000 + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Engineer to join a growing technology team that is investing heavily in its cloud capability. This role offers the chance to work across modern Azure environments, develop your automation skills, and contribute to a range of cloud infrastructure and integration projects while learning from experienced cloud professionals.

The Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you will help build, support, and improve cloud infrastructure across the organisation’s Azure environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design, deployment, and maintenance of Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Assisting with infrastructure-as-code deployments using Bicep and other automation tools
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub
  • Writing PowerShell and Azure CLI scripts to automate operational processes
  • Managing cloud resources including virtual machines, networking, DNS, certificates, and storage
  • Supporting incident resolution and troubleshooting cloud-related issues
  • Contributing to cloud security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives
  • Assisting with the delivery of integration solutions using Azure Integration Services
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation
  • Working closely with senior engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience working with Microsoft Azure
  • Understanding of core Azure services including compute, networking, storage, and identity management
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Scripting experience using PowerShell and/or Azure CLI
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and operational support processes
  • Experience using Git version control
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or equivalent are beneficial
  • A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in developing cloud engineering expertise
