Cyber Security Engineer

Job Description

Join one of the UK's leading defence and technology organisations and help secure the next generation of mission-critical systems.We're looking for an experienced Cyber Engineering Consultant to support the delivery of cyber security across complex defence products and platforms, including Radar, Laser, Operational Technology (OT), Information Technology (IT), and advanced electronic systems.This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of UK Defence, collaborating with engineers, architects, and security specialists to ensure security is embedded throughout the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept and design through to deployment and in-service support.The RoleAs a Cyber Engineering Consultant, you will:Deliver cyber security and information assurance activities across complex engineering programmes.Support product teams in implementing secure-by-design principles and MOD security requirements.Conduct threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, risk assessments, and security reviews.Develop and assess system and security architectures.Define and manage cyber security requirements at system and control level.Support accreditation, assurance, and compliance activities across the lifecycle.Work closely with customers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver secure, resilient solutions.What We're Looking For3+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Cyber Engineering, Product Security, Systems Security, or Information Assurance.Experience supporting MOD accreditation activities and Secure by Design processes (ISN 2023/09).Strong understanding of cyber risk management, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessment.Experience working beyond traditional enterprise IT environments, including software, firmware, hardware, OT, or embedded systems.Knowledge of secure system design, engineering lifecycles, and cyber security controls.Excellent stakeholder engagement and consulting skills.Degree in Engineering, Cyber Security, or a recognised cyber security certification.Highly DesirableDefence or National Security experienceExposure to Operational Technology (IEC 62443)Experience with Radar, Laser, Electro-Optic, or other complex engineering systemsSecurity architecture and system design expertiseProduct Security or Systems Security Engineering backgroundWhy Apply?Work on cutting-edge UK defence programmesInfluence the security of mission-critical technologiesJoin a highly skilled team of cyber, engineering, and domain expertsExcellent opportunities for professional growth and development
