Data Engineer - Azure

Azure Data Engineer (Contract) Belfast, Northern Ireland | Hybrid/remote Negotiable day rate | 6 months, with scope to extend VANRATH is partnering with a global technology consultancy that delivers cloud and data transformation projects for some of the biggest names in enterprise. They're bringing in an experienced Data Engineer on contract to help build modern data platforms on Snowflake, Databricks and Microsoft Azure. You'll be joining a collaborative team that works with well-known organisations across a range of sectors. The role You'll design and build scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms, delivering solutions across Snowflake, Databricks and Azure Data Services. Day to day, you'll develop reliable ETL/ELT workflows for large, complex datasets. You'll also improve data models, platform performance and processing costs, and support migration, integration and transformation programmes. Because this is a client-facing role, you'll work directly with stakeholders to understand what they need and deliver solutions to match, while sharing your expertise and promoting data engineering best practice across the team. What you'll bring Strong commercial experience as a Senior Data Engineer or Data Consultant Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks Solid Azure skills, particularly Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Advanced SQL, plus Python or PySpark A track record of building enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines A good grasp of data modelling, governance and data quality Consultancy or client-facing delivery experience, with confident communication and stakeholder management What's on offer A competitive day rate, an initial 6-month contract with a strong chance of extension, and flexible hybrid or remote working.
