Job Title: Workday Functional Consultant

Location: The Acre, Covent Garden, London - Hybrid working, 1 day per month in the office

Type: Full time, Permanent

We are hiring a Workday Functional Consultant to join us on permanently working on a hybrid basis from our Covent Garden office. You will be responsible for delivering Workday configuration, technical troubleshooting, incident resolution, and controlled Workday change management across the global Workday platform.

This is a purely technical and operational role focused on system accuracy, configuration quality, data integrity, release readiness, and defect elimination. You will work across all functional areas of Workday as required, while also maintaining expertise in one or more assigned modules.

This role focuses on platform enablement, ensuring the Workday system is stable, compliant, scalable, and continuously optimised through structured delivery disciplines such as SDLC, ITIL, and Agile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support and administration across the Workday platform, ensuring a stable, efficient, and high-performing HR system.
  • Own and configure key Workday modules, driving enhancements while maintaining compliance with governance and global design standards.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, using root cause analysis to deliver long-term solutions and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver Workday change requests and enhancements from requirements gathering through to testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
  • Lead the assessment and testing of Workday bi-annual releases, ensuring minimal business disruption and seamless adoption of new functionality.
  • Monitor system performance, data quality, security, and reporting accuracy, implementing improvements to strengthen platform integrity.
  • Identify and implement automation and process optimisation opportunities to improve user experience, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to provide technical expertise, drive best practice, and maximise the value of Workday across the organisation.

To be successful in the role, you will have

  • Previous experience within a Workday Functional role with demonstratable hands on experience.
  • Must have experience with 1 or more of these Workday Modules; Recruiting, Learning, Compensation.
  • Experience of Workday Security or Integrations is desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Proactive attitude with sound decision making and problem solving.
  • Strong hands-on experience configuring Workday Business Processes.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining Calculated Fields, EIBs (Inbound & Outbound), custom reports, and condition rules.
  • In-depth understanding of Workday data structures, business objects, and reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience using ServiceNow and Azure DevOps
  • Working knowledge of downstream integration behaviours, data flows, and impacts of configuration on connected systems.
  • Proven ability to interpret Workday release notes, identify technical impacts, and assess system or process consequences.
  • Experience delivering configuration changes under structured governance.

Salary Range: £51,600 - £64,000

The advertised salary range reflects the level, scope and responsibilities of the role. Starting salary within that range will be determined based on experience, skills, market considerations and alignment with internal equity principles.
