Information Technology Network Manager

We are seeking a hands on technical IT Network Manager to join and lead our dynamic team. Based out of our Southampton site, reporting into our Infrastructure manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of the DP World UK IT Networks and the effectively manage the UK Network team across two sites.

Our ideal candidate will have solid experience as a Network Engineer and Senior or Team lead experience. We are looking for someone with excellent IT expertise and the ability to drive a team. You’ll supervise the daily activities of team members and work as "one" team to deliver results; no two days or problems will be the same in this fast-paced job. We're searching for someone who can approach problems with a can-do mentality and identify solutions.

Location: Southampton, with a potential for additional On call requirement (compensated)

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

About the Role

Analyze, design, implement, test and maintain network solutions for the need of the specific UK container terminal (automated or semi-automated) to ensure they meet the system requirements;

Ensure network design meets the performance and redundancy requirements of the business;

Manage and provide leadership towards selected network hardware, software providers and cloud service providers in the deployment of the networking solutions on premise or in the cloud;

Manage and mitigate networking risks;

Plan and manage on-call rota of level 3 support of UK network team

Manage network devices, backup & restore configs, archive logs;

Liaise with equipment vendors to enhance network performance and support stability;

Migrate the systems to the cloud where possible ensuring the required performance and redundancy criteria are met;

Continuously monitor Network Capacity requirements - storage, processor utilization, communications bandwidth, power, UPS/standby generator, etc;

Continuously monitor the performance of the network devices to ensure necessary steps taken in case of a bottleneck, incident or disaster

Design, plan, implement, test and regularly update disaster recovery plans and particularly prioritise redundant systems in DP World UK terminals

Manage the implementation and daily running of the company networks, covering router, firewalls, switches, IP Telephony, LANs, WANs and WLANS, Microsoft products, 3rd party software;

Set objectives and goals for individual team members. Carry out annual performance reviews and if necessary, produce performance improvement plans

Prioritise, assign and manage projects, whilst providing regular Updates to UK Infrastructure Manager

What you will bring

Demonstrable experience of team management.

Extensive knowledge and hands on experience on Cisco switches, Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime, Network Monitoring Tools;

In depth knowledge and experience about hybrid datacenter environment (both cloud and on premise)

Experience with SANS/Virtualised infrastructure is desirable

Experience in automated environment

CCNP or preferably CCNP (or equivalent) minimum qualification;

Minimum requirement a degree level IT qualification.
