We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer / Lead to drive innovation and lead a geographically dispersed team within a dedicated defence organisation.

In this role, you’ll oversee the design, development, and deployment of complex software systems, working closely with cross-functional experts in hardware, systems, and RF technology. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, guiding technical direction, and ensuring excellence in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small talented team of software engineers across multiple sites


• Drive the delivery of innovative solutions in defence sensor systems


• Ensure technical excellence, compliance, and system reliability


• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions


• Influence strategy, architecture, and process improvement


• 5+ years’ experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager


• Strong background in C++ development


• Experience with QT


• Skilled in managing distributed teams


• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills


• Knowledge of RF technology & secure software development


• Experience in the defence sector or sensor-based systems


• Experience with Agile methodologies


• Background in Radio Frequency or Defence is beneficial


• Familiarity with systems integration involving sensors and RF components
