Job Opportunity: Materials Controller

Location: Tunstall

Contract Type: Temporary ongoing

Hourly Rate: £15.07ph

Working Pattern: Full Time Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Materials Controller to join their dynamic team in Tunstall. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute to the smooth operation of their supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and control material inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.

Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage incoming materials and deliveries.

Maintain accurate records of materials received and dispatched, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Collaborate with various departments to forecast demand and assist in procurement planning.

Perform regular audits of inventory and assist in the implementation of best practises for inventory management.

Identify and resolve any discrepancies in stock levels promptly and effectively.

Responsible for raising all Purchase Requisitions and POs for site-specific needs.

Ensures Purchase Requisitions for raw materials and finished goods are placed accurately and timely.

Monitors material levels and forecasts needed to support production requirements.

Manages stock (rental and sale)

Liaises with the Production Planner for any cylinder preparation prior to office fill.

Analyses material usage and demand to identify efficiency improvements and minimise waste.

Coordinates the collection and the return of products to 3rd party suppliers.

Obtains competitive quotes from suppliers not covered by a central contract or price list.

Collaborates with procurement, production, and operation teams to ensure seamless material flow

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of materials management:

Proven experience in a materials control, supply or inventory role.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.

Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.

Proven experience working with ERP systems for production planning and material management and SAP.
