Test Automation Developer
Department: Software Development
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Cambridge, UK
Reporting To: Director of Software
Description
We are looking for a Test Automation Developer to join a new test automation squad for our music production products.
Working with the Lead Test Automation Developer, you will help build the automation framework, Jenkins infrastructure, and regression suites that product squads across the Music Production development team will follow. This is a hands‑on development role in a squad being built from the ground up.
This role can be either permanently based at our Cambridge UK office or hybrid home/office based. You must qualify for employment in the UK.
What You'll Do
Join a new squad delivering inMusic's test automation initiative for music production products.
Help implement and maintain the automation framework and toolchain, working to the squad's coding standards.
Help build and maintain the CI integration, including multi-platform agents and test reporting.
Develop automated tests for the initial regression suite on a pilot project, applying the patterns the squad establishes.
Contribute to the live coverage and results dashboard giving clear visibility of automation progress and quality across products.
Help to develop AI‑assisted test generation in line with the squad's tooling, prompting, and review standards, ensuring generated scripts meet quality thresholds.
Work closely with the Lead Test Automation Developer, product squads and QA to help product teams adopt the framework and its patterns.
What You Bring
Test automation experience, including building regression suites that stay reliable and maintainable as they grow.
Proficient in C++ and scripting languages appropriate to the task, such as Python. JUCE experience is an advantage.
Experience working with CI pipelines, ideally Jenkins; experience configuring build and test agents is an advantage.
The ability to work well in a small squad: following shared standards, participating in code reviews, and delivering to plan.
Strong debugging, testing, and technical communication skills.
Fluent in spoken English with strong writing skills.
Interest in music technology, creator tools, hardware/software integration, or audio workflows.
A considered, practical view of AI‑assisted test generation and the review discipline needed to use it well.
