Job Description

Section Engineer (Civils)
Our client is proud to be one of the UK's leading specialist civil engineering contractors, and has earned an enviable reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service. Due to continued and sustained growth, the company is now looking to recruit an experienced Section Engineer to assist in their further ambitious expansion plans.
The Role
Responsible for setting out and site engineering activities for civil engineering works
Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed and calm manner
Work with suppliers and sub-contractors with the aim of improving performance
Oversee multiple site activities
Supporting teams to ensure work is delivered safely on time and to specification
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan and create RAMS / WPP's
Supervise subcontractors and direct labour
Ensure quality control and compliance with technical standards
Coordinate with site teams to resolve technical issues
Monitor progress and produce accurate reports for project management
Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental procedures
Conduct site surveys, audit setting out, and checking / approving works
Maintain accurate site records including diaries, as-built drawings and QA
Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard
Conduct yourself in a way that reflect and promotes the company values
Understand and act in accordance with company policies and procedures
The Person
Previous experience in a similar role in a relevant field (civil engineering)
Experience of working with contractors (either as employee or sub-contractor)
Ability to support site teams and delegate tasks
Experience managing subcontractors, plant, and labour within a section of works
Quick thinking and analytical skills to resolve technical and logistical challenges.
Clear verbal and written communication with teams
Prioritising tasks and managing deadlines under pressure.
Precision in setting out, documentation, and quality control.
CSCS and a full UK driving licence
