SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Salford
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £110 per day

Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN Primary School in Salford, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the primary age range. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support to access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication and learning needs
Helping pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Supporting children to engage with lessons and classroom activities
Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience working with children with SEN
Experience within a primary school, specialist setting or similar environment
A patient, caring and nurturing approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive relationships with children
A good understanding of supporting children with additional needs
A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
