Senior Manager - FP&A

Job Description

We are?
A leading specialist engineering services company delivering integrated solutions for complex energy and infrastructure projects and operating assets. Our business is built on the belief that our people are what make EnerMech excellent. When we are thriving globally it's not just about investing in our infrastructure, service offering and technology, but by also investing in our people.

The Role and Responsibilities

EnerMech are looking to recruit a Senior Manager FP&A to our busy Finance team in Aberdeen.

The position plays a key role in driving financial performance management across the organisation by delivering high-quality planning, forecasting, reporting and commercial insight. Working closely with the Head of FP&A, this role partners with business leaders and functional teams across multiple geographies to improve decision-making, establish consistent performance management practices and enhance the quality of financial information used throughout the organisation.

The role is responsible for embedding standardised reporting, developing meaningful performance metrics, improving forecast accuracy and evolving the FP&A function from a predominantly historical reporting function into a proactive, forward-looking business partner.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Partner with business line leaders and functional leadership teams to provide insightful financial analysis that supports strategic and operational decision-making
  • Deliver value-added analysis that identifies risks, opportunities and performance improvement initiatives
  • Lead elements of the budgeting and rolling forecasting processes across multiple business areas
  • Support scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to enable informed business decisions
  • Develop and maintain standardised management reporting across business units and geographies
  • Ensure all reporting has a clearly defined purpose, addresses stakeholder requirements and drives action
  • Partner with stakeholders to define, implement and continuously refine a consistent suite of financial and operational KPIs
  • Build strong working relationships with Finance, Commercial, Operations, HR, IT and other corporate functions
  • Identify and resolve cross-functional data dependencies that impact reporting quality or forecasting capability
  • Work across multiple geographies to establish common planning and reporting standards
  • Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes, reporting and planning methodologies
  • Develop trusted relationships with senior business stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies
  • Present financial information confidently to senior management, translating complex analysis into concise business messages

Essential Experience Requirements

  • Significant experience within Financial Planning & Analysis or Commercial Finance
  • Experience partnering with senior operational and functional leaders
  • Proven experience supporting multinational organizations with multiple business lines
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated success in improving planning, forecasting and reporting processes

Leadership & Behaviours

  • Strong commercial curiosity and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for simplifying processes and increasing efficiency
  • The confidence to challenge constructively while building strong collaborative relationships
  • A focus on outcomes rather than simply producing reports
  • High levels of accountability, ownership and attention to detail

Diversity & Inclusion

At EnerMech we want to create a diverse and inclusive organisation and grow together to make a vibrant business. We are not there yet, but the desire is steadfast, so please consider a career with us in an organisation where differences in background, culture, education, working style and less obvious differences are respected and celebrated.
