Job Description

School Support Worker – Aston

Colmore Education is currently recruiting for a caring, compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Aston.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in care, education, support work or working with children and young people who is passionate about helping pupils develop, thrive and reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, behavioural needs and social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Role

As a School Support Worker, you will:

* Provide individual and small-group support to pupils throughout the school day.

* Support children and young people with a range of additional and complex needs.

* Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with pupils.

* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and social development.

* Assist pupils with communication, personal development and independence.

* Help pupils engage with lessons and school activities.

* Use positive and consistent approaches to support behaviour.

* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.

* Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and life skills.

* Help maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

* Caring, patient and compassionate.

* Confident supporting children and young people with additional needs.

* Calm and resilient when faced with challenging situations.

* Understanding of Autism, ADHD and behavioural needs, or willing to learn.

* Able to build strong and positive relationships with pupils.

* A good communicator and reliable team player.

* Flexible and able to respond to individual pupil needs.

* Passionate about making a positive difference to young people's lives.

Experience working as a Support Worker, Teaching Assistant, Care Worker, Youth Worker or within an SEN setting is desirable. Transferable experience will also be considered for the right candidate.

DBS Requirement

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be able to provide evidence of a valid Child and Adult DBS or be willing to undergo the appropriate DBS checks before commencing work.
