Job Description

Lead Engineering Excellence Across One of New Zealand's Most Critical Security PortfoliosAotea Security is seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Manager to provide engineering leadership across our growing critical security portfolio.This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving technical excellence, engineering governance, quality assurance, resource planning and capability development across a diverse portfolio of secure facilities, national programmes and critical infrastructure projects.You will work closely with senior leaders, project teams, operational staff and client stakeholders to ensure engineering standards remain industry-leading while supporting the successful delivery of business-as-usual operations, transition programmes and future strategic initiatives.About The RoleAs Engineering Manager, you will provide engineering leadership and oversight of engineering activities across custodial and non-custodial environments. You will lead a nationally distributed engineering team and work closely with senior leaders, project teams, operational staff and client stakeholders to ensure engineering standards remain industry-leading while supporting the successful delivery of business-as-usual operations, transition programmes and future strategic initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading and developing a nationally distributed engineering teamProviding technical leadership, direction and decision-makingEstablishing and maintaining engineering standards and governance frameworksConducting design reviews and technical assurance activitiesDriving quality, consistency and continuous improvement initiativesManaging engineering resources, workload planning and capability developmentSupporting operational service delivery through technical escalation and engineering coordinationWorking alongside project and programme teams to ensure successful delivery outcomesSupporting asset lifecycle planning, technology refresh and innovation initiativesBuilding strong relationships with our client stakeholders and key partnersAbout YouSignificant experience in engineering leadership or engineering management rolesStrong background in electronic security, ICT infrastructure, automation, integrated systems, or related technologiesDemonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical teamsExperience with governance, quality assurance and engineering standardsStrong commercial awareness and understanding of project deliveryExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to influence, coach and develop high-performing teamsExperience working within complex operational environmentsRelevant engineering, electrical, ICT or technology qualificationsExperience working in secure facilities, government environments, critical infrastructure or large-scale service contracts will be highly regarded.Location: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch
