Multi skilled engineer

Job Description

You will be responsible for mechanical and electrical engineering and maintenance support for our production activity on site.

Your responsibilities

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Conduct the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
  • Varied work on modern packing, grain processing, milling and beverage production equipment
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair
  • Ensure effective running, maximum uptime & minimal downtime for all our internal customers.
  • Ensure that site PM and legal checks are completed in the agreed timescales
  • Ensure H&S processes are being followed
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to meet current legislative standards
  • Ensure all parts that are required are requested/ordered in a timely manner, with particular attention to essential items/longer lead times.
  • Propose and implement site production improvements
  • Any other tasks that may reasonably be required by colleagues.

Skills and experience

  • Ideally possess a mechanical/electrical qualification or relevant experience
  • Experience of working on modern food manufacturing equipment including SCADA screens and HMI screens
  • Able to identify faults, especially in PLC control and instrumentation
  • Experience on steam pipe work is an advantage
  • Boiler room BOAS Certification is an advantage
  • Demonstrable experience on HVAC and chiller
  • Effective communications skills at all levels
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable team player

This is a 40-hour-per-week role, typically Monday to Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm.
