Procurement Manager

Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit two Procurement Managers to join their team in Stevenage or Bristol. We are looking for individuals who can work collaboratively with suppliers across the globe, building strong commercial relationships and supporting effective supplier management.

Role: Procurement Manager

Pay: 40 - 45 per hour via Umbrella

Contract: Monday- Friday, 37 Hours per week, 9-month contract

Location: Stevenage or Bristol

IR35 Status: Inside

Security Clearance: BPSS to start however SC is required

Requirements

  • Manage mature series production supplier subcontracts throughout the full product lifecycle.
  • Ensure suppliers deliver in line with contractual obligations, supporting both UK domestic and export customers.
  • Negotiate future pricing arrangements to achieve value for money and commercial objectives.
  • Support bids for new business, including negotiating and placing subsequent subcontracts.
  • Manage supplier obsolescence issues, developing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with UK and international suppliers and design authorities.
  • Monitor supplier performance, proactively addressing contractual and delivery risks.
  • Support the ongoing management and development of supplier relationships, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost efficiencies.

Skillset & Experince

  • Experience in contract management and negotiation in customer/supplier environment
  • Determination: day-to-day problem solving in an exciting commercial environment is a key part, so you will need to be comfortable in asking and answering difficult questions, challenging yourself and others to common goals, organising both people and situations
  • Communication: reporting and co-operation with internal and external partners
  • Assertiveness: continually seek ways to maximise on opportunities
  • Qualified in a business subject area with procurement or supply chain accreditations, or equivalent experience
  • UK and European Travel to suppliers required
