Job Title : Project Manager - Technical

Payrate : £400 per day (Umbrella)

Hybrid Working: London Borough of Harrow, Forward drive, Harrow, HA3 8NT

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a technical or building surveying background looking for your next contract role? London Borough of Harrow is seeking a talented professional to lead the delivery of capital projects and planned maintenance programmes across its extensive school estate.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving educational facilities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

The Role:

As a Project Manager - Technical, you will manage a portfolio of capital and facilities projects across schools and other community assets. You will provide expert technical advice on property, construction, maintenance, and compliance matters while acting as the key link between schools, contractors, and the Council's Capital Projects Team.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing capital works and planned maintenance projects across the school estate.

Investigating building defects and developing repair and maintenance strategies.

Providing technical advice on construction design and legislative compliance.

Monitoring contractor performance to ensure works are delivered to specification, programme, and budget.

Acting as the primary interface between schools and the Capital Projects Team.

Liaising with Head Teachers, Governors, contractors, and external agencies.

Supporting the development of 3-5 year capital maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.

Managing urgent repair issues and competing priorities across multiple sites.

Assisting with health and safety compliance monitoring across schools.

Maintaining project governance and reporting documentation.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Experience managing construction, property, capital works, or maintenance projects.

A Diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Property, Project Management, or a related discipline.
