We're Looking for a Chef!
Location: De Bruce Court Care Home, Hartlepool
Pay Rate: £13.74 p/h
Hours: 40 hours p/w, dayshift
Job Type: Permanent / On-site
Shift: 0830-1700
About the Role
Are you a passionate and experienced chef who takes pride in creating great food?
We're looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Chef to join our team and prepare nutritious, tasty meals for our residents.
This is more than just cooking – you'll help make mealtimes something residents can look forward to , while ensuring their dietary needs, preferences and wellbeing are always considered.
Your Key Duties
You will be responsible for:
Preparing and cooking healthy, balanced and enjoyable meals
Catering for dietary requirements, allergies, medical needs and individual preferences
Planning meals and preparing food within agreed budgets
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and Health & Safety standards
Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and safe
Maintaining standards in line with EHO requirements
Managing stock, ordering supplies and minimising food waste
Using effective portion control and meal planning
Working closely with care staff to make mealtimes a positive experience
Supporting and guiding junior kitchen staff where required
