Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Job Description

We’re working with a high-growth, Series A–backed startup building a new category of AI software to help companies automate operations using their internal (tribal) knowledge. The team is deeply technical, with a strong focus on quality, ownership, and long-term impact.

This is a hands-on role for engineers who enjoy working at the intersection of applied AI research and real-world production systems.

The Role

As a Senior AI Engineer, you’ll design, build, and ship LLM-powered systems that solve real customer problems. You’ll work across the full lifecycle from early research and prototyping to production deployment and evaluation.

You’ll be comfortable switching between high-level system design and low-level debugging, whether that’s tuning an evaluation framework, scaling async workflows, or understanding why an agent behaved unexpectedly in production.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement LLM-based systems and agentic workflows
  • Build and maintain evaluation frameworks to measure and improve model performance
  • Develop scalable, asynchronous systems for AI orchestration
  • Work on RAG pipelines, multi-agent systems, and production LLM workflows
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and product teams
  • Contribute to AI strategy and long-term technical direction

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience building and deploying non-trivial AI systems in production
  • Strong understanding of ML and deep learning fundamentals
  • Experience with LLMs, agents, RAG, or large-scale inference pipelines
  • Ability to move comfortably between research papers and production code
  • Curiosity, ownership, and a strong desire to keep improving

Research indicates that men will apply to a role when they only meet 50-60% of the descriptions, however, when looking at women and other minority groups, they can look for up to a 99% match in order to apply to a role. If you feel you are a fit for our role, please still apply, don’t worry if you don’t tick every single box. We’d still love to hear from you. We encourage underrepresented talent to apply to all our roles & support accessibility needs.
