Workshop Supervisor Location: Warrington Salary: Up to £54,000 DOE + 10% Bonus + Overtime + Benefits Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Supervisor looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have strong hands-on experience working with gearboxes, motors, pumps, engines, drive chains and other rotating equipment, combined with the ability to lead a small, experienced team? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering business in Warrington, where youll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a workshop package, leading a team of 5 experienced fitters and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The Opportunity As Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of 5 experienced mechanical fitters, coordinating workshop activities and ensuring jobs are completed on time and to the required quality standards. This is a hands-on supervisory role, suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the technical side of the work while also taking responsibility for the performance and development of their team. Youll be responsible for planning and allocating work, supporting the fitters technically, monitoring quality and ensuring the workshop operates safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of 5 experienced mechanical fitters Allocate daily work and coordinate workshop activities Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales Provide hands-on technical support when required Oversee the stripping, inspection, repair and reassembly of mechanical equipment Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality Monitor job progress and communicate updates to management Support the training, development and mentoring of workshop staff Ensure workshop procedures, health & safety and company standards are followed Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal teams where required Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and processes About You The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Senior Fitter, Chargehand or Mechanical Supervisor Strong mechanical engineering knowledge Experience working with gearboxes, motors, pumps, engines, drive chains and rotating equipment Hands-on experience with stripping, inspection, repair and reassembly Previous experience supervising or leading a small team The ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation A practical, problem-solving approach Strong communication and organisational skills The confidence to lead experienced engineers while remaining hands-on A commitment to safety, quality and getting the job done right Whats on Offer £54,000 basic salary 10% achievable annual bonus Overtime opportunities Additional allowances where applicable Company benefits package Opportunity to develop into a more senior management position Stable position within an established engineering business This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Supervisor who wants to move into a formal Workshop Supervisor position while remaining closely involved with the technical and hands-on side of the operation.
