Multi-skilled Engineer

Reference: BH-69929 We're supporting a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their engineering team in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical background to join a highly automated manufacturing environment. Working a day-based Monday to Friday schedule, you'll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, improving equipment performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across site. Core Duties:Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across production plant and equipmentResponding to breakdowns and performing reactive maintenance to minimise downtimeFault finding on mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automated production systemsSupporting continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and equipment uptimeConducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent repeat failuresLeading small engineering projects and improvement initiativesManaging spare parts requirements and supporting engineering stock controlSupporting equipment modifications and change control activitiesActing as Permit Issuer and supporting safe systems of work across the siteProviding engineering support, coaching, and knowledge sharing across operational teamsAbout You:NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical and Electrical EngineeringPrevious experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environmentStrong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systemsExperience working with PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systemsKnowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, drives, sensors, and electrical control gearUnderstanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principlesStrong communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenanceAble to work independently and contribute positively within a team environmentThis is a days-based role, working Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
