Network Stack Developer

Job Description

The net is both chain and sword. Corporations use it to spy, track, and control. At 傘の一味 (Kasa no ichimi) we use it to liberate. We refuse the bloated stacks built for surveillance capitalism. We build our own: lean, encrypted, and pirate-proof. If you believe in rewriting the rules of connection, if you want to give people a network that serves them, not masters, then you’re just where you need to be.

Your mission is to design a robust, secure, and high-performance network stack that preserves privacy by default and resists surveillance at all levels. a networking core that is encrypted by default, resistant to censorship, and optimised for real-time performance . You will ensure SP can host private servers, run secure messaging, and resist hostile surveillance.

Key
responsibilities

  • Build low-latency, encrypted networking stacks.
  • Integrate VPN and mesh networking into the OS.
  • Integrate encrypted DNS and routing.
  • Optimise throughput for gaming, streaming, and sync.
  • Develop network monitoring tools without logging user data.
  • Collaborate with security engineers to harden network protocols.
  • Mastery of TCP/IP, UDP, QUIC, TLS.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and low-level APIs.
  • Proficiency in C with a focus on networking code.
  • Knowledge of packet filtering and firewall rules.
  • Contributions to WireGuard, Tor, or IPFS.
  • Work on censorship-resistant networks.
  • Experience with PF, ipfw, or nftables.
  • Work on censorship resistance technologies.

Technologies

  • Languages: C, Rust, Go.
  • Packet analyzers: Wireshark, tcpdump.
  • Benchmarking frameworks.
  • Simulation tools for network stress testing.
