An established and highly regarded main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team and take the lead on the delivery of significant construction schemes in Devon. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading teams and working closely with clients and supply chain partners to deliver high-quality schemes safely, efficiently and commercially.

The Opportunity

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the delivery of projects from the current stage of construction through to completion, overseeing programme, quality, health and safety, commercial performance and client relationships. You will work closely with established site teams, design consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders, providing clear direction and ensuring projects remain on programme and within budget. The role will suit a confident Project Manager with a strong main contracting background who is comfortable managing complex projects and enjoys being closely involved in all aspects of delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility for the delivery of projects from construction through to completion and handover.

Lead and motivate project and site teams, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

Manage programme, progress, quality, health and safety and project performance.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

Oversee procurement and subcontractor performance, ensuring works are delivered to the required standards.

Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and commercial performance alongside the commercial team.

Identify and manage project risks, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

Chair and contribute to regular project and progress meetings.

Ensure compliance with company procedures, construction standards and relevant legislation.

Drive continuous improvement and promote a positive culture of safety, quality and collaboration.

Support completion, commissioning and handover of projects.
