Group Application Development Manager

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a household name - a multi brand business with a strong customer focus, to appoint a Group Application Development Manager.

This is a chance to lead the software development function at the heart of a large, well invested group. You'll head up a talented in-house team, act as the main link between the business and technology, and shape how software gets delivered across the Group. The role carries real influence: you'll set priorities, improve ways of working and help shape the wider Application Development & Test strategy.

What you'll be doing

Leading, coaching and developing the Group Software Development team

Delivering the Application Development & Test roadmap, including projects, enhancements, fixes and BAU work

Managing demand, priorities and stakeholder relationships across the Group

Running backlogs, sprints, capacity and resource planning

Simplifying processes, standardising ways of working and lifting team efficiency

Making sure development standards meet best practice, security and governance requirements

Setting KPIs and reporting on delivery, capacity and risk

Managing third-party suppliers and service delivery

What you'll bring

3 to 5 years' experience leading software development or IT teams, ideally in retail or another fast-paced consumer business

A strong grasp of software delivery, workflow management and balancing competing priorities

Experience managing budgets, resources and supplier relationships

Confident stakeholder management at all levels

A track record of continuous improvement and developing people

A degree in Computing or IT, or equivalent industry experience
