About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a growing R&D and engineering function developing innovative technology for the energy sector.
Based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, this is an opportunity to take a senior technical role in the development of production-ready embedded systems, helping shape technical direction across multiple products. You’ll work closely with software and hardware engineers to design and deliver robust solutions spanning energy management, real-time control and connected IoT devices.
This role would suit an experienced embedded engineer who can bring technical expertise and seniority to the team, with particularly strong experience in C/C++, embedded systems and STM32 microcontrollers.
How you’ll spend your day
You'll play a key role in designing, developing and improving embedded software across a range of products, combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership and collaboration across the wider R&D function.
* Design and develop complex, production-ready embedded software solutions for energy management and control systems.
* Architect and implement embedded applications using C/C++, working across RTOS and bare-metal environments.
* Provide technical leadership and help shape the software architecture and technical direction across multiple product lines.
* Develop software for ARM-based microcontrollers, with a particular focus on STM32 devices.
* Design and support real-time systems, including feedback and control loops used within instrumentation and control applications.
* Work closely with hardware engineers to troubleshoot, debug and optimise embedded systems using tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
