Salary: £13/hr - £14/hr
About School: Special School for boys aged 11-16. We cater for boys who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties. We offer a safe and stimulating learning environment where students are able to develop socially, academically and emotionally, in order for them to attain and achieve their full potential, becoming effective citizens and life-long learners.
Job Description:
To work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for pupils within the classroom or 1:1 . Providing learning support to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behaviouralsocial, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.
Establish a supportive relationship with students and develop methods to promote/reinforce their self-esteem
Follow reporting procedures in relation to behaviour issues and causes for concern.
To develop links with parents, carers and agencies by ensuring helpful and responsive communication at all times regarding the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils
To promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils, ensuring that the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures are promoted within the School
Support pupils on outdoor activities
Requirements:
Right To Work in the UK (NO SPONSORSHIP)
a passion for working within an SEMH setting, (primary school experience would be an advantage
a flexible and enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to embed a positive culture of learning amongst staff and students
Proficient in English language and excellent interpersonal skills
Personal or professional experience with children
