Finance Assistant

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy finance environment, has excellent attention to detail and is looking to develop their career within a supportive finance team.

The Role

As Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently and providing support to the wider finance team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and within agreed timescales.

Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentation.

Processing credit notes and resolving invoice queries.

Posting and allocating customer and supplier payments.

Reconciling customer and supplier accounts and investigating discrepancies.

Assisting with bank reconciliations and ensuring transactions are recorded accurately.

Preparing and issuing customer statements where required.

Liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve account and payment queries.

Processing employee expenses and ensuring supporting documentation is provided.

Assisting with the preparation of aged debtor and creditor reports.

Monitoring outstanding invoices and supporting the wider finance team with payment queries.

Processing direct debit forms and maintaining accurate financial records.

Assisting with month-end procedures and providing information required for management accounts.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date finance records and documentation.

Using multiple in-house systems alongside Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.

Providing cover for colleagues during periods of annual leave and supporting the wider finance team as required.
