What you'll do:

As a Data Engineer based in Birmingham, you will be instrumental in driving the organisation's transition from traditional on-premises systems to modern cloud-based architectures using Azure Cloud and Fabric. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing scalable pipelines that facilitate efficient data flow across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with colleagues from different departments to gather requirements, implement best practices for security and governance, and use tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Power BI to deliver actionable insights. Success in this role requires attention to detail when documenting processes, proactive optimisation of performance, and a commitment to supporting both legacy systems and new developments. By staying informed about industry trends, you will help shape the future of data engineering within the organisation.

Design and build robust data pipelines that ensure seamless integration between various sources and destinations.

Lead the migration process from on-premises systems to Azure Cloud and Fabric environments, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

Implement best practices for data management, security, and governance throughout all stages of the migration process.

Utilise Azure Data Factory (ADF) to orchestrate complex workflows and automate data movement across platforms.

Leverage Power BI to create insightful dashboards and reports that support decision-making across the organisation.

Optimise performance of data solutions by monitoring usage patterns and proactively addressing bottlenecks or inefficiencies.

Document all processes thoroughly to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
