South Manchester The Company Our client is an award-winning engineering company, supplying high-quality machine components to a diverse range of industries worldwide. The Company is looking to enhance its operational team by appointing an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer. The working hours are 07:30 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 12:30 on Friday's. Job Description The Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer will assist in the mechanical, electrical repair and maintenance of production machinery across the factory. The role requires a candidate with strong mechanical experience and a secondary electrical bias (80% mechanical / 20% electrical). Other responsibilities of the Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer will include, but are not limited to: Reacting to Machine breakdowns and liaising with the production team. Carrying out PPM checks and maintenance work as directed. Filling out relevant paperwork for the role (e.g. PPM sheets). Pro-actively looking for and implementing improvement opportunities. Maintaining a clean and tidy workshop environment. About You The ideal Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer will have the following: A City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. Time Served skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with basic electrical experience. Experience required as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment. PLC fault finding knowledge will be advantageous. In addition, the ability to identify potential issues and advise on corrective course of measures. Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing skills and experience would be beneficial. Proactive approach to your work and being highly motivated. Experience in working in a fast-paced Manufacturing background.
