Job Description

Highways Site Manager

Location: Royton, Oldham

Salary: £46,000 - £52,000 DOE + £4,000 Car Allowance & Benefits

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Highways Site Manager to lead the delivery of a major highways and public realm upgrade in Royton Town Centre, Oldham.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take responsibility for a significant urban highways scheme involving highway reconstruction, new cycle lanes and paths, improvements to bus corridors and high-specification paving and public realm works.

The Role

As Highways Site Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.

You will work closely with the Contracts/Projects Manager during pre-construction and throughout delivery, coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers. You will be responsible for monitoring progress against the programme, managing site resources, ordering plant and materials and maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.

The project is being delivered within a busy town centre environment, so strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential to ensure disruption to surrounding businesses and the public is kept to a minimum.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience delivering highways reconstruction, cycle paths, bus lanes/corridors and public realm works
  • Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and suppliers
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety and construction site management
  • Ideally an NVQ Level 5 in Civil Engineering, Construction Site Management or a similar discipline

You should be a confident leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills and be comfortable managing a complex project within a busy urban environment.

Salary & Benefits

The position offers a salary of £46,000 - £52,000 depending on experience, alongside a £4,000 annual car allowance and an excellent benefits package.

Benefits include 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays and a Christmas shutdown, private healthcare, enhanced pension contributions, life assurance at 3x salary, holiday buy/sell options, employee discounts, additional holidays for length of service, salary sacrifice car scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and ongoing training and development.
