HGV Class 1 Driver - Alfreton, Derbyshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for consistent ongoing work, with a pathway to a permanent contract for the right candidates through a 9-week temp to perm role.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• Monday to Friday: £15.90 per hour
• Saturday: £18.48 per hour
• Sunday: £23.10 per hour
• £0.50 per hour bonus for completing all scheduled shifts

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday (Weekend work available)
• Various shifts available – earlies, lates and nights to suit

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• HGV Class 1 general haulage deliveries (palletised goods)
• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Flexible working options including nights out and tramping
• Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required (curtain side and back loader vehicles)

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• Minimum one year Class 1 HGV driving experience
• Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum of six penalty points (no major endorsements)
• Professional and reliable approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good spoken and written English
• Strong punctuality and timekeeping
• Good understanding of UK road traffic laws

Training:

• Driver assessment prior to starting
• Ongoing industry-related training and support
