Maintenance Engineer 8-Hour Shifts (No More 12s!)

Location: Runcorn, Cheshire (Commutable from Warrington, Manchester, Northwich, Ellesmere Port)

Salary: £48,000 + Overtime + Premium Benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. 3-Shift Rotation (6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6) Monday to Friday

Candidates must have Minimum Level 3 (NVQ/City & Guilds) in Electrical Engineering.

Reclaim Your Weekends and Evenings

Are you tired of the grueling 12-hour "4-on-4-off" grind? This is a rare opportunity to join a market-leading automated facility in Runcorn that prioritizes work-life balance without compromising on pay or technical challenge.

We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our state-of-the-art depot. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-speed automation while enjoying the consistency of 8-hour shifts.

The Role

As part of our site engineering team, you will ensure maximum uptime for our mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. This is a "hands-on" role focused on both rapid breakdown response and long-term asset reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute PPM schedules on high-volume automated picking and sorting machinery.
  • Reactive Support: Provide rapid-response fault finding to minimize downtime during production windows.
  • Project Delivery: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new Supply Chain technical projects.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise external specialists and ensure H&S compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify "bad actor" machinery and suggest modifications to improve OEE.

Technical Requirements

  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 (NVQ/City & Guilds) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Proven background in a fast-paced maintenance environment (e.g., Distribution, FMCG, or Manufacturing).
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic skills across PLC-controlled conveyors and pneumatic systems.
  • Systems (Desirable): Exposure to automation vendors such as Dematic, TGW, Knapp, or Vanderlande.

Why Join Us?

Beyond the move to 8-hour shifts, we offer a culture of investment. We don't just fix machines; we develop people.

  • Financial Security: £48,000 base + accessible overtime.
  • Education: Company-funded accredited training and apprenticeship pathways.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Health cash plan (dental, optical, scripts) and an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Lifestyle: High street discount schemes and a financial wellbeing app for flexible pay control.
  • Future-Proof: Work with the latest warehouse automation and "Industry 4.0" tech.

Shift Details (3-Week Rotation)

  • Week 1: Mon Fri (06 15)
  • Week 2: Mon Fri (14 15)
  • Week 3: Mon Fri (22 15)

Requirement: 1 in 3 Sundays (06 00)
