About Amber Labs

Amber Labs is a cutting‑edge technology consultancy delivering innovative digital solutions across UK Central Government. We specialise in cloud transformation, DevOps enablement, and secure‑by‑design engineering, supporting high‑profile programmes that make a real impact.

We are currently seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our growing team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This is a fully remote UK‑based role, working on mission‑critical Central Government projects.

Active SC Clearance (mandatory)

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)

Containerisation (Docker)

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)

Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure cloud architecture

Experience working in Agile, multi‑disciplinary teams

Ability to take ownership of technical solutions and contribute to engineering best practice

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure

Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform

Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)

Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines

Ensure compliance with Government security standards and best practices

Collaborate with architects, developers, and security teams

Contribute to technical decision‑making and continuous improvement

Experience working to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards

Knowledge of logging/monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)

Experience with cost optimisation in AWS environments

AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)

BPSS clearance eligibility is required prior to starting the role
