Python Engineer

Job Description

Python Engineer, 6 months, London, £450 per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain solutions using Databricks, Python and SQL.
  • Support migration of data assets from legacy platforms into modern cloud-based architectures.
  • Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems, including Oracle databases.
  • Develop reusable data engineering frameworks and best practices.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, security and performance standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable fixes.
  • Collaborate with architects, data analysts, business stakeholders and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of JRIE's enterprise data platform.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer within large enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on expertise withDatabricks.
  • AdvancedSQLdevelopment skills.
  • StrongPythondevelopment experience.
  • Extensive experience working withOracle databases.
  • Proven experience building and supporting data pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Experience working within cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, performance optimisation and data quality controls.
  • Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
