Senior Software Engineer

OVERVIEW:We're looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help build the technology that support Gymshark's global growth. Working with industry best tools including Golang, Event-Driven Architecture, and AWS Serverless technologies such as Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and DynamoDB, you'll design and deliver scalable solutions that support key business priorities. As part of a Tech function you will work with Product Engineering, Data Engineering, Operations, Platform Engineering and Delivery, playing a key role in building both customer-facing and internal products that drive the business forward.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:Leading technical implementations of projects to help your team deliver high-quality work on timeUsing Golang to design, build and maintain APIs, services and integrationsImplementing event driven solutions to support critical business processesCreating, maintaining and developing CI/CD pipelinesBuilding scalable and valuable software leveraging AWS Serverless technologies such as; Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, DynamoDBFocus on creating testable, maintainable and scalable code, following Engineering standardsFollowing an Agile development approachMaintaining existing services, ensuring a high standard of observability and proactive monitoring, in addition to responding to incidents. (Especially during peak sale periods which is critical to business success!)Mentoring and coaching other engineersImprove engineering standards and best practicesWHAT YOU'LL NEED:Essential Criteria:Must have experience in software engineering and writing production code in Golang or another strict typed languageExperience using cloud based serverless services (such as AWS Lamba, Google Cloud Run or Azure Functions)Must have a demonstrable knowledge building and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesExperience designing, setting up databases as well as have an understanding of relational and non-relational approachesExperience designing, building and maintaining scalable APIsAn understanding of Event Driven Architecture conceptsExperience using Git and understand branching strategiesExperience implementing quality and testing best practices within the services you produce, such as unit testing and contract testingCommercial Awareness and a creative problem solver with the ability to think laterally and understand the cost and value drivers within a competitive business environmentCLOSING DATE: 28th September 2026LOCATION: Please note this is a hybrid role and requires the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ, Solihull, UK.BELONGING AT GYMSHARK.Our mission is to be a place where everyone belongs.
