After significant investment in 2025 they are keen to employ a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Engineer working a 4on4off shift you will be a crucial part of our client's operations. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of equipment, ensuring the smooth running of production processes, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the facility. If you're a skilled engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding role, this is your opportunity.

This is what you'll be doing.

Lead and coordinate the engineering team on shift, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard

Take ownership of mechanical breakdowns and drive rapid fault diagnosis to maximise equipment availability and minimise production downtime

Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of FMCG production and packaging equipment

Support the development of engineers on shift, providing technical guidance and ensuring best practice is followed

Conduct mechanical repairs and overhauls including gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, bearings, drives and power transmission equipment

Utilise machining and fabrication skills to manufacture, modify and repair components where required

Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, applying formal fluid power knowledge to maintain equipment reliability

Support electrical fault finding and maintenance activities, which make up approximately 20% of the role

Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency and reducing recurring faults

Assist with equipment installations, site projects and machinery upgrades from planning through to commissioning
