CNC Programmer/Setter

Job Description:

Proactive Personnel Ltd are currently recruiting on behalf of an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Birmingham, who are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer Setter to join their team.

The Role

As a CNC Programmer Setter, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision components to customer drawings and specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Creating, developing and proving CNC programs for production.

* Setting and operating CNC machining centres for production runs.

* Carrying out both manned and unmanned machining operations.

* Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.

* Maintaining tight tolerances and high standards of quality.

* Inspecting components and ensuring they meet required specifications.

* Carrying out routine machine maintenance checks and completing relevant records.

* Identifying tooling requirements and recommending tooling improvements.

* Contributing to process improvements and improving machining efficiency.

* Working closely with engineering, design and production teams.

* Providing technical input into SOPs and manufacturing processes.

* Proactively identifying and resolving machining and production issues.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience as a CNC Programmer Setter.

* Experience with CAM programming.

* Experience with Hurco machinery would be highly advantageous.

* Experience with Edgecam would be highly advantageous.

* The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.

* Experience working to tight tolerances and demanding quality standards.

* A good understanding of tooling and machining processes.

* Strong attention to detail.

* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

* The ability to work effectively alongside engineering and production teams.
