Senior Estimating Manager

Role responsibilities:
Align cost management with risk management, establishing contingency plans.
Review cost estimates, challenging proposals using benchmarks and norms.
Develop overall cost baselines, monitor progress, and take corrective action.
Demonstrate expertise in Cost Management techniques, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
Work cross-functionally with other disciplines, utilizing BIM data.
Ensure technical accuracy, adherence to schedule, and budget compliance.
Develop cost models, particularly indirect costs, using a range of data.
Coordinate technical issues, leading cost reviews.
Understand work processes of other disciplines and communicate cost-related issues for informed design decisions.
Utilize industry best practices for estimating and related controls services.
Candidate profile:
Membership in professional associations such as RICS, ACostE, ICES, or similar, along with relevant qualifications.
Chartered Status or in progress towards it.
Experience in high-value, complex construction or infrastructure estimating programs.
Leadership experience in managing estimating teams and stakeholder communication.
Proficiency in developing, understanding, and quantifying work scope for first-principles cost estimates.
Ability to convert estimates into budgets and effectively manage risk, opportunity, and uncertainty.
Analytical skills to assess external factors influencing costs and interpret relevant regulations and industry standards.
Experience managing team performance on high-value and complex projects or programs.
Desirable skills:
Understanding of contract law and contractual documents.
Knowledge of intellectual property rights and industry/government contracts, including CCS, aerospace, defense, and MOD.
Familiarity with ITAR regulations.
