Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical / electrical design on several small projects (up to £5M) or one medium sized project (up to £20M).
  • Prepare mechanical/electrical design to our client’s specification.
  • Contribute to overall project implementation.
  • Attend internal and external meetings.
  • Prepare design drawings in AutoCAD format as required.
  • Formulate calculations as required (this includes any modelling as necessary).
  • Be responsible for managing your deliverables within the agreed internal project costs.
  • Write internal and external reports.
  • Participate in quality control and document management in line with internal systems.
  • Undertake design audits.
  • Assist in building surveys as appropriate.
  • Support the mentoring of junior staff.
  • Working towards Chartered Status with a relevant body.
