Operations Manager

Job Description

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our Construction team based in Essex (Stansted)., Location: Essex (Stansted), covering Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & BuckinghamshireHours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As an Operations Manager, you’ll be working within the Eastern South business unit, supporting them in building projects that support and develop local communities. You’ll manage operational resources including people, finances and physical assets to deliver a portfolio of contracts safely, on time and to the required quality. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact, managing projects valued up to £75m annually within a growing portfolio that exceeds £150m.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Operations Manager, you’ll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering high-quality building projects. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading and promoting a strong safety, health and environmental culture across all projects
  • Managing the efficient execution of contracts to maximise return while maintaining client relationships
  • Overseeing project delivery from pre-construction through to practical completion, ensuring quality and progress
  • Managing project finances including revenue, costs and cashflow, taking proactive action to maximise profitability
  • Leading and developing your team, undertaking performance reviews and creating succession plans

Requirements

You have a Degree/HND in Construction and are professionally qualified or working towards membership of a Professional Body

  • You hold a CSCS card and SMSTS certification
  • You have demonstrable experience managing production teams across multiple live construction sites
  • You possess strong commercial awareness with knowledge of contract conditions and law within the industry
  • You can communicate effectively at all levels and manage a demanding and varying workload
