Job Title: Full Stack Developer (Java, Node.js, React, TypeScript)

Location: Manchester, UK (Hybrid – 2 days/week in-office required)

Contract Duration: 6 Months+ (High likelihood of extension)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer for a 6-month+ contract based in Manchester to engineer high-performance web applications. You will deliver end-to-end features, working across enterprise Java and Node.js backend services while building responsive frontends using React and TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deploy scalable microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js (Express/NestJS).
Build modern, modular web interfaces using React and TypeScript.
Develop, test, and document RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
Optimize database queries and schema performance across relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL platforms.
Work on-site in our Manchester office 2 days per week alongside cross-functional team members.

Requirements

Tech Stack: Demonstrated production experience across Java, Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
Architecture: Strong understanding of microservices, API design, and asynchronous communication patterns.
Database & Tooling: Hands‑on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Location: Must be based within commuting distance of Manchester and willing to work on-site at least 2 days per week.
Duration: 6 Months initial contract with view to extend.
Work Setup: Hybrid (2 days in Manchester office, 3 days remote).
