Mechanical Project Engineer - Contract, Outside IR35, 6 monthsChepstowRate dependent on experienceYolk Recruitment is supporting a well-established manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Contract Mechanical Project Engineer to support a significant programme of site investment.This is a 6 month contract, working alongside an experienced Project Manager to deliver a range of CapEx and engineering projects across a busy operational manufacturing site. There is a substantial programme of investment underway, with projects at different stages and an immediate need for someone experienced enough to get up to speed quickly and take ownership.The site combines long-established plant and machinery with significant ongoing investment in replacement and upgraded equipment, so this will suit someone comfortable delivering projects in a live, brownfield manufacturing environment rather than working purely on new-build projects.This is what you'll be doingDeliver mechanical and site engineering projects from scope through to installation, commissioning and handoverTake ownership of a number of CapEx projects at different stages of deliveryDevelop project scopes and engineering solutions with site stakeholdersManage contractors, suppliers and installation activitySupport tendering, specification, procurement and project cost controlCoordinate project activity around live manufacturing requirementsEnsure projects are delivered safely, on time and in line with site standardsThe experience you'll bring to the teamExperience delivering engineering or CapEx projects within manufacturing, process or heavy industryStrong mechanical engineering backgroundExperience managing contractors and external suppliersExperience taking projects from scope and specification through installation and commissioningGood understanding of RAMS, permit to work, contractor control and site safetyHNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent experienceAbility to work independently and take ownership of live projects with minimal supervisionAnd this is what you'll get in return6 month initial contractRate dependent on experienceImmediate start availableVaried programme of mechanical and CapEx projectsOpportunity to work on a site receiving significant ongoing investment
