About the Role

Payroll executive - Part-time (3days a week)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Executive to join a busy HR and Payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll & Pension Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering an accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll service while providing first-line support to employees and managers on payroll and pension-related matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries, providing timely and professional support to employees and managers.

Assist in the accurate processing of monthly payroll, including:

New starters and leavers

Contract and salary changes

Overtime and additional payments

Expenses and allowances

Absence-related payments

Statutory deductions and pension contributions

Maintain accurate payroll and employee records using HR and payroll systems, ensuring confidentiality and data security.

Process payroll documentation including P45s, starter declarations, student loans, maternity paperwork and year-end returns.

Administer pension auto-enrolment and support employees with pension-related enquiries.

Manage salary sacrifice schemes, including pension, holiday trading and cycle-to-work arrangements.

Apply payroll legislation and statutory payments, including PAYE, National Insurance, Statutory Sick Pay, Maternity Pay, Paternity Pay and other statutory entitlements.

Support the administration of sickness, maternity, paternity and adoption processes.

Assist with payroll overpayment recovery processes.

Produce payroll reports and support the preparation of management information.

Support month-end and tax year-end payroll activities.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll and HR processes and systems.

Work collaboratively across the wider HR team to deliver an excellent employee experience.
