Group Financial Controller

A high-growth, private equity-backed business is seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead its Group finance operations during an exciting phase of expansion and transformation.

Operating across multiple markets, the business delivers specialist solutions to a broad portfolio of clients. With growing revenues, the organisation is investing significantly in systems, reporting capability, operational scalability, and future acquisitive growth.

This is a highly visible role reporting to the CFO, offering broad exposure across financial control, group reporting, finance transformation, systems optimisation, and stakeholder management within a fast-paced PE environment.

The Role

This is a hands‑on leadership position suited to a technically strong and commercially aware finance professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic international business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the month‑end close and group consolidation process across multiple international entities
• Delivering high‑quality reporting packs for senior leadership, lenders, and investors
• Managing the year‑end statutory reporting and external audit process
• Overseeing complex accounting areas including intercompany accounting, revenue recognition, debt structures, and foreign exchange
• Maintaining and enhancing financial controls, governance, and compliance processes
• Managing and optimising the ERP environment to support scalability and reporting improvements
• Overseeing cash management, balance sheet integrity, payroll approvals, VAT, and working capital controls
• Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, controls, and reporting
• Supporting automation, reporting enhancement, and finance systems optimisation initiatives
• Partnering with operational and data teams to improve integration between financial and commercial reporting
• Managing and developing the finance team
• Driving accountability, process improvement, and capability development across the function

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will likely demonstrate:

• Strong post‑qualified experience within Group Financial Controller or senior finance leadership roles
• Experience within private equity‑backed and multi‑entity environments
• Strong technical accounting and group consolidation expertise
• Experience operating within mid‑market, fast‑growing organisations
• A hands‑on, pragmatic approach combined with strong attention to detail
• Exposure to finance transformation, systems improvement, or change initiatives
• Experience within B2B services environments would be advantageous
