Senior Electronics Engineer

FC Engineering Recruitment is working with a highly technical engineering business specialising in the development and manufacture of advanced products for demanding applications.The company works across a variety of specialist engineering markets, including aerospace, automotive and rail.Key responsibilities will include:Leading the definition, design, development and testing of electronic hardwareDesigning and developing PCBs and electronic circuits using Altium DesignerTaking ownership of hardware through the complete development lifecycleProducing specifications, schematics, block diagrams, test procedures and technical documentationBuilding and testing prototypes and investigating technical issues using laboratory equipmentResearching and evaluating new electronic and hardware technologiesManaging technical requirements, development budgets and project timescalesSupporting product qualification and transfer into productionProviding technical guidance to engineers, contractors and project teamsWorking closely with engineering and wider business functions to deliver new productsMentoring and supporting less experienced engineersContributing to technical innovation, intellectual property and engineering best practiceYou will ideally have:A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent engineering experienceExtensive experience within an electronics or hardware development environmentStrong understanding of the hardware development lifecycle, from requirements through to qualification and productionProven experience with PCB design and Altium DesignerExperience designing, testing and troubleshooting electronic hardwareExperience working to formal engineering, quality and design standardsStrong technical problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approachExperience taking technical responsibility for products or significant hardware developmentsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different teams
