Electrical Engineer

Job Description

11kV Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading player in the energy sector, is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their Low Carbon team on a permanent basis. This role focuses on substation, distribution, transmission, and energy projects, providing a unique opportunity to work on landmark projects and contribute to a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing cost-effective engineering solutions to complex problems.
  • Delivering projects at various stages of development including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering, and Detailed Design.
  • Preparing and developing Electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, cable calculations, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design, switchgear configurations, and producing bill of materials/quantities.
  • Collaborating with equipment vendors to develop and evaluate equipment design packages.
  • Assessing the condition, risk, opportunity, and need for intervention of electrical assets.
  • Developing proposals and bids for the EC&I discipline and contributing to multi-disciplinary proposals.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering with significant experience in electrical design, operation, maintenance, and testing.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and a member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
  • Ability to take on a lead role in the development of Electrical deliverables and the assessment of assets.
  • Knowledge of design, construction, and operation of power and energy projects.
  • Understanding of design processes and experience in producing calculations and commissioning, operation, maintenance, and testing of medium and high voltage equipment and systems.
