Senior Process Engineer

Clean Technology | Scale-up | First-of-a-Kind Systems

I’m supporting a pioneering clean technology business that is developing a new approach to hydrogen production.

They are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to help scale their technology from laboratory development into large, containerised industrial systems.

This is a hands-on role sitting at the point where R&D becomes commercial deployment. You’ll take ownership of the overall system architecture, bringing together process, mechanical, electrical, controls and safety requirements into a fully integrated solution.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the systems engineering and integration of containerised hydrogen modules
• Defining the overall architecture across process, mechanical, electrical, controls and safety
• Producing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations and design documentation
• Contributing to HAZOPs, hazard assessments and safety-by-design decisions
• Managing technical trade-offs around hydrogen safety, electrical segregation, performance and operability
• Supporting the scale-up of first-of-a-kind technology from pilot stage into commercial deployment
• Working closely with internal modelling, process and engineering specialists
• Acting as a technical interface with EPCs, construction partners, clients and project-delivery teams
• Supporting installation, commissioning and site-based problem-solving

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Several years of relevant industrial engineering experience
• Strong process-engineering capability, including PFDs, P&IDs and process calculations
• Experience with HAZOPs, risk assessments or safety-case development
• Experience integrating multiple engineering disciplines into a complete system
• An understanding of scaling emerging technology from pilot to commercial deployment
• The confidence to work with external engineering, construction and project partners
• A practical, adaptable approach to working with evolving first-of-a-kind technology

Experience within hydrogen, petrochemicals, sustainable fuels, industrial process technology, direct air capture, pilot plants or modular systems would be particularly valuable.
