Job Description

Role: Van Driver

Location: St Albans, AL2

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday. Contracted working hours are between 7:00am – 7:00pm, however flexibility is required as working hours can fall at anytime depending on business needs.

Salary: £27,000 - £28,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Van Driver to join our client's successful team.

Our client is a well-established events and logistics business, providing equipment and support services to a wide range of corporate clients, venues and suppliers across the UK. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional service and are looking for a reliable and professional individual to join their close-knit team.

Duties of a Van Driver:

Driving a long wheelbase van to event venues, suppliers and corporate clients

Carrying out deliveries and collections primarily within Central London and the M25

Occasionally travelling further afield throughout the UK as required

Loading and unloading equipment safely and efficiently

Ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed on time

Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues

Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the company vehicle

Communicating professionally with clients, suppliers and freelance staff

Planning and navigating routes effectively (sat nav provided)

Assisting with warehouse duties when not out on the road

Working closely with the operations team and other drivers to ensure all jobs are completed successfully

Undertaking additional duties as required to support the business

What we would like from you:

Previous experience driving long wheelbase or 3.5-tonne vehicles

Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points

Previous multi-drop delivery experience

Comfortable driving within Central London and the M25

Good geographical knowledge and route planning skills

Warehouse experience would be beneficial

Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties

Strong communication and customer service skills

Flexible approach to working hours and overtime
