Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)

Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-end commercial & residential projects across London. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team with at least 7 years experience in Building Services and MEP.This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to take a leading role in delivering complex, technically challenging projects from concept through to completion.You will work closely with engineers, project managers, clients, and site teams to develop efficient, compliant, and high-quality mechanical design solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce detailed mechanical building services designs from concept through to construction.Prepare technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and design documentation.Coordinate mechanical services with multidisciplinary design and construction teams.Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations, British Standards, and client requirements.Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including resolving design and installation issues.Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth and successful project delivery.Mechanical Systems You'll Be DesigningHeating systemsHot water systemsChilled water systemsVentilation systemsAir conditioning and environmental control systemsMechanical control panelsAssociated controls cablingPlumbing and public health systemsSite temporary mechanical installationsAbout YouA minimum of 7 years' experience in mechanical building services design.Strong experience delivering commercial and high-end residential building services projects.Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and associated mechanical systems.Strong understanding of current regulations, British Standards, and industry best practices.Proven ability to coordinate complex designs within multidisciplinary teams.Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.A proactive and detail-focused approach to design delivery.What's on OfferSalary of £60,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.Based in Sutton, with travel to various London-based project sites.Opportunity to work on prestigious, high-end commercial developments.Join a respected Mechanical & Electrical contractor with a strong pipeline of work.Supportive team environment with genuine long-term career progression opportunities.Exposure to technically challenging and varied project work.If you're an experienced Mechanical Designer looking to join a forward-thinking contractor where your expertise will be valued and your work will make a real impact,
